South West had the lead twice thanks to tries from Catherine Gray and Ellisha Large, but Kristen Glanville, Renae Glanville and Amy Dobson won it for the Sweets.
The other A Grade game was a dead heat as neither Old n Weary Clubbers nor Brad’s Beauties were able to score a try.
The Clubbers will need to be on their game tomorrow night if they’re to overcome a determined Sweets side in their qualifying final clash.
The One Hit Wonders won their B Grade qualifying final 4-2 over the Redskins thanks to three tries from best player Erin Boxsell.
Holman Tolmie bowed out of the B Grade with a forfeit to Central Storm in the elimination final. The Storm will now face top team Redskins, who also had a week off.
Here for Beer were dominant in their C Grade qualifying final, defeating JMC Family 5-0 thanks to a hat-trick from best player Shannon Foster.
Meanwhile the C Grade elimination final was full of excitement as Deadly Serious opened the scoring through Jade Belling, but were tied 1-1 at full time thanks to an equaliser from Centrally Beddies’ Kristen Rees.
Playing a drop-off golden try decider, the sides were down to just three players when Sarah Faulks went flying down the sideline to clinch it for Beddies.
Tonight’s finals draw can be seen below.
Moving on to the men’s touch on Thursday night, there was similar excitement in the A Grade elimination final as Family Rippin and Tearin tried desperately to hold on to an early lead thanks to a Dan Maher try, only to concede a late equaliser to Family Fanatic’s Jarryd Cook.
With the score locked at full time it became necessary to play another drop off.
Both sides were down to four players before Chris Maher scored a dramatic winner for Rippin n Tearin.
A hat-trick from Brenton Forsyth was not enough for the Ray-Dars in their A Grade elimination final as they went down 7-4 to The Fuzz.
The Fuzz’s James Smith and Jason Cronin both earned best player points for their two tries.
The B Grade elimination final as CFS Warriors ran out 7-1 winners over Central Schooners thanks to four tries from Luke Levett.
The B Grade qualifying final was a little closer but still decisive as Central Strayerz beat Cental Tigers 4-1. The Tigers will need to find their form this week against an in-form Warriors side, whilst the Strayerz might be more practiced than the Thunderbirds who earned the bye last week.
Two tries for Jack Caldwell helped the Rookies to a 5-1 win over Family Hotel in their C Grade elimination final.
This week they face the Brothers, who went down 5-4 to Stock Club in the C Grade qualifying final. The Globe Barbarians felt slightly aggrieved not to have made the finals, beating both these teams since Christmas, but there was no arguing with Jesse Turner’s four tries for Stock.
