Paul Miller, Stephen Howse, Craig McTavish and Win News reporter Jared Constable from Wagga raised $5700 through the charity leg wax for Amanda Norman.
The three Cootamundra men all knew Amanda from their school days and when they realised she was suffering a debilitating form of multiple sclerosis they immediately wanted to help.
They came up with the quirky idea of leg waxing and the community has been quick to jump on board – many sponsoring the men per leg.
Knowing it wouldn’t be a painless exercise, Paul said prior to the wax that the pain they would suffer would be nothing compared to what Amanda faces on a daily basis.
After the wax he was still putting on a brave face saying it was “all worth it” to raise the money they did for Amanda.
Stephen’s Pacific National workmates added $300 to the total raised in exchange for him waxing his eyebrows as well as his legs. Stephen agreed and off came his eyebrows with the comment from Belinda “taking someone’s whole eyebrow off is my worst nightmare!”.
Amanda was overwhelmed by the support of the boys and the Cootamundra community – a town she used to call home and still has strong connections to.
“I’m so grateful they have done this for me,” she said on Friday.
Donations are still being taken and can be handed directly to Paul at Cootamundra Holden, who can issue a receipt for tax purposes, or to the Future Hope bank account, established specifically for Amanda.

A total of $100,000 is needed to get Amanda to Russia for potentially life-changing treatment.
Prior to Friday’s leg wax $51,000 of that total had been raised.
“It’s becoming real now,” Amanda commented as she and her family make the preparations necessary to get her overseas.
