Sammy Maxwell has made it through the first round of training for the Australian youth girls rugby sevens squad.

She was named in the preliminary side of 29 players earlier this year, and during training in the school holidays the squad was cut to 20.
A further five players will be dropped at the next camp in June, leaving 12 squad members and three shadows for the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa this September.
