The town and shire as well as Harden and surrounding villages lost power shortly before midday.
Services were officially restored at 2.38pm.
A spokesperson for Essential Energy stated that there was a fault on the 66kv power line that supplies the area.
The cause is still being investigated but it is believed to be attributed to today’s brief thunder storm.
