The Arts Centre hosted 19 students on Tuesday May 5 for a Homegrown Heroes workshop led by Aboriginal artist Jessica Birk.
“Jessica loved working with the students and they clearly loved working with her, and having the opportunity to ask questions and gain insights into her history and culture, as well as her process and technique for developing art,” project manager Tessa Donovan said.
Students are currently working on more artworks to submit to the competition. 18 winners around the state will be exhibited at The Rocks Discovery Museum in Sydney from July 7.
