Aleece is the eldest daughter of proud parents Gay and Michael Johnson. Around 100 guests travelled from New Zealand, Queensland, Melbourne, Wagga, Albury, Canberra, Goulburn and Cootamundra to share their special day.
For something old Aleece wore her grandmother’s (Margaret Vesperman) 65-year-old blue stone ring the late Peter gave Margaret.
Aleece was attended by her sister Emma Johnson, Willie's sister Margaret and friends Kelly Spencer and Toni Scott.
The groom had his lifelong friend Chris, cousin Shane, Matthew Slavin, Jaykeb Black.
Birthdays abound
Warmest Greetings to the following top Coota residents who this week celebrate birthdays:
Pat Kerins is “the birthday boy" on May 23.
Tom McDevitt’s birthday was yesterday (and we extend sympathy to Tom at the passing of his great dad Ray “Toad” McDevitt)
Warwick Benson celebrated a milestone birthday yesterday and his lovely mum Carol celebrated her birthday Wednesday.
Vacy Fazio and Fiona Levett celebrate their birthdays on Sunday.
Well-known local lady Carmel Mills celebrated her 80th birthday with a gathering at the Family Hotel on May 17.
Her three children, grandchildren, six brothers and sisters and many friends were in attendance.
We all recall the days when Carmel was a Nursing Sister at the Cootamundra Mercy Hospital, then the Cootamundra Hospital, some 25 years of loyal service in the care of many locals.
Caught in Nepal
Former Coota man Garth Perkins is a lucky man. He was in Nepal with a Rotary group from the Riverina when the earthquake hit.
The group was there to assist with building a school just out of Kathmandu and were lucky to escape the worst of the earthquake - he tells that it certainly shook them all up!
Garth worked here in agriculture and his charming wife Marg was a teacher at the Public School.
