Despite forecast for rain overnight, officials neglected to call off the games until less than an hour before the Madden Shield kick-off time on Sunday morning.
This meant the women’s teams and supporters from Cootamundra had already spent an hour on the road before being told to turn around.
With only four weeks to play it remains to be seen whether the round will be rescheduled. Any missed games at this late stage could have a big impact on the final ladder.
All four Strikers sides will be at home this weekend, weather permitting, for their final club day of the season.
