At just two weeks old, Charlie Ricketts was enjoying his very first Cootamundra Soccer Club family day snuggled in mum’s arms.
It was cold, wet and miserable weather but the newborn didn’t mind as his head was kept warm in an adorable Strikers beanie.
The beanie was part of a thoughtful gift bag presented to proud parents Beau and Janine Ricketts by Kath and Gerry O’Brien and Kaylene Ashley.
Beau and Janine have both been forced to miss this season due to a shoulder injury and pregnancy respectfully, but that hasn’t stopped them getting to nearly every home game.
“It’s a nice, social time and I like to see how my friends are going,” Janine said.
Janine first played for the Strikers back in 2012 at the encouragement of friends including Anna Betts, Samantha Cram and Alana Simons.
Beau meanwhile donned Cootamundra colours for the first time last year after many seasons with Young.
Both are hoping to be back on the field next year.
Some parents in the club are aiming to keep playing until they can take to the field with their kids.
That would be a pretty lofty ambition for Beau and Charlie, but Janine might have a better chance with daughter Ella.
