Late last year four gentlemen at the “farewell” of Gundagai Independent’s Patrick (Scoop) Sullivan made a comment of “we can’t keep meeting just at wakes, let’s organise the last Maher Cup reunion”.
The quartet were expecting 40 people to be in attendance at the final Maher Cup hurrah.
However, with over 180 people now expected to converge on the Country Club tomorrow, the reunion has exceeded their expectations.
There will be former players and supporters travelling from all across the state.
I am sure there will be many tales to be told with plenty of reminising of the good old football days.
Jak & Jill sale time
WHO doesn’t love a bargain? Don’t miss the Jak & Jill carpark sale tomorrow from 9am.
There will be menswear starting at $5, bikinis from $5 and a huge range of accessories at below cost price. Plus lots more.
A great opportunity to stock up on gifts or treat yourself to an item you have been admiring.
The huge clearance sale will be in the carpark behind Jak & Jill, next to the Olympic Bottleshop.
One sale not to be missed!
Happy 60th to Cathy
HAPPY 60th birthday to Cathy Collingridge who will celebrate her birthday this Sunday.
Cathy received the best present possible when her daughter Amy, and granddaughter Pippa, arrived from their home in Ireland last month to spend time with the family.
Along with husband Michael, Amy and eldest daughter Jane a wonderful weekend has been planned to commemorate the occasion.
Have a lovely time Cathy.
Engagement ecstasy
THERE is much excitement in the Scholtz and Morton families with Mariné Scholtz and Benjamin Morton of Stockinbingal announcing their engagement on New Year’s Eve at Newcastle.
It was an extra special time for Mariné to be able to share the wonderful news with her grandparents who were visiting from South Africa.
The wedding date has been set for April 2017
