JOURNALIST Stan Grant will visit Cootamundra on Monday as part of an event promoting Australian constitutional recognition for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Mr Grant is a Wiradjuri man who grew up in Griffith and has a personal connection to Cootamundra.
In his recent book Talking To My Country, he reveals how his aunty Eunice Josephine Grant was forcibly removed from the Cowra mission and taken to Cootamundra Girls Home.
Mr Grant will attend Monday’s Recognise event at the Arts Centre in his capacity as a journalist with National Indigenous Television.
Recognise is hosting an information forum at The Arts Centre from 10am, followed by a visit to the former home, now Bimbadeen.
Mr Grant will deliver a brief address regarding the importance of truthfully recognising Australian history.
