Among those gathered was a strong number of visitors joining locals residents and school students to commemorate those who have made the ultimate sacrifice during war.
Attendees marched from outside the school to the cenotaph where Wallendbeen Public School principal Toni Daly opened and led the service.
She was joined at the microphone by 2016 Wallendbeen Public School co-captain Caitlyn Daly.
Caitlyn spoke about a 14-year-old soldier; a young person just two years older than she is today who endured the horrors of war.
The service beautifully reflected the pride Wallendbeen residents have associated with Australia’s wartime e?fforts.
Following the conclusion of the service, community members gathered in the Wallendbeen Memorial Hall to reflect and enjoy each others company on a day etched into the psyche of all Australians.
