FIRE OPEN DAY A HUGE SUCCESS
This year’s annual Open Day of the Cootamundra Fire Station 266 has been hailed an outstanding success by organisers.
Approximately 330 visitors attended the local station last Saturday to catch a glimpse into Australia’s busiest fire and rescue service.
The Open Day consisted of safety demonstrations, tours of the fire station and the chance to inspect firefighting equipment and trucks used by firefighters when responding to fires and other emergencies.
There were plenty of activities to keep the children amused. The children were also given to take home a goody bag which included a LEGO City mini figurine. A free sausage sizzle was also enjoyed by both young and old.
The day was a great opportunity for visitors to speak to fire fighters first-hand about fire safety in the home and also what it takes to become a part time firefighter with the Cootamundra Brigade.
The lucky winner of the raffle was Tarnia Drum.
