The need for speed begins on the Saturday, with the Vintage Sports Car Club of NSW back at the Cootamundra Airport to conduct a sprints meeting, testing what their vehicles are capable of down a quarter mile marked out on the runway.
They will bring many rare and exotic sports cars from the 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s.
Accompanying these will be a selection of V8 muscle cars from the 60s and 70s, all vying for the fastest time of the day.
To add to this, the Cootamundra Antique Motor Club has organised a complementary Landrover/Range Rover Display, to be held at the airport on the same day.
Vehicle owners will travel from the Central Coast, Sydney, Canberra and Snowy Mountains to join together with locals for the weekend.
The Landrovers and Range Rovers will date from 1948 to current models and exhibit the extensive range of Land Rover products which have been produced over the years.
Adding to the community feel, the Lions Club of Cootamundra will be kept busy, catering for the day.
Also on Saturday, Albert Park will host a Hot Rod Display showcasing motor cars and bikes reflecting individual ideas and styling, not generally catered for by the industry.
On the Sunday 4, it will be all hands on deck for the Antique Motor Club as they host their annual Swap Meet at the Cootamundra Showground.
Already, more than 300 stalls have been booked for the event to display their wares this year.
There is sure to be something for everyone looking for that special part or item to complete a project.
As in previous years, this Father’s Day weekend in Cootamundra will provide plenty of interest for motoring enthusiasts and bargain hunters.
