Dozens, if not hundreds, of reels of all shapes and sizes have already been collected for the attempt. 

Any community members with empty reels at home who would like to donate them towards the attempt can do so by dropping them off at Patchwork on Parker. 

Mrs Manwaring said with no existing record, whatever length the Jugiong and surrounding communities can come up with will be immortalised, making the process exciting and a bit of fun to add to the regular antics of the exhibition. 

The exhibition will be hosted in the Jugiong Memorial Hall on Saturday and Sunday, September 3 and 4. 

Morning and afternoon tea and a light luncheon will be available on both days with proceeds from the weekend to go to the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute and Cootamundra and Harden branches of Can Assist. 

Entry to the exhibition is $5 per person. 

As part of the lead-up some of the menfolk of Jugiong have been breaking down gender stereotypes participating in a sewing and crafting workshop at the Jugiong Motel recently. 

Here the blokes, most with day jobs in the agriculture industry, put their finesse to the test coming up with items which will be auctioned during the exhibition to add to the pool of charitable funds raised. 

All items will be on display and there will be a ‘Viewer’s Choice’ vote going on.
