No longer being a councillor meant he had to relinquish his REROC position.
Mr Braybrooks took on the role in 2000 while mayor of Cootamundra.
REROC was established In 1994 as a result of a number of general purpose councils operating in the eastern Riverina region of NSW identifying a need to work more closely together to achieve greater efficiencies and effectiveness; not only in service delivery but also in their ability to represent the needs of their respective communities.
Cootamundra and Gundagai together with the councils Bland, Coolamon, Greater Hume, Junee, Lockhart, Temora, Tumbarumba, Tumut, Urana, Wagga Wagga, Goldenfields Water and Riverina Water make up the members of REROC.
Mr Braybrooks was guest of honour at a luncheon held last Tuesday showing appreciation for his dedication to the organisation.
"It was an honour to chair REROC for all those years,” Mr Braybrooks said.
He described REROC as a “very worthwhile” organisation which brings real benefits to its member councils and their communities.
“It's a classic example of how working cooperatively together produces a result which far exceeds the individual possible action,” Mr Braybrooks said.
Gundagai Council Administrator Christine Ferguson congratulated and thank Mr Braybrooks for his dedication to REROC, council and his community.
“Paul, like each of our former councillors, is an important leader within our community and plays an integral role as we progress,” Mrs Ferguson said.
“Each member of Council’s LRC (Local Representative Committee) and IAG (Implementation Advisory Group) committees bring with them skills and knowledge that are invaluable as we move further into the development of the best council that we can be,” she continued.
