Empowerment and personal development were the messages being promoted as seven girls from Cootamundra High School graduated from the Shine program at a lunch on Tuesday.

The program, now in its ninth year at the school, is aimed at personal development, encouraging girls to build confidence, self-esteem and to feel empowered.
The year eight girls attend classes throughout the term, teaching them important lessons and life skills.
Teenage years are formative and the positives lessons the girls learned are extremely important. At the graduation lunch, the girls were treated to a guest address by local motivational speaker Jessica Roxburgh.
The lunch was waited by Cootamundra High School year nine students who graduated from the Shine program last year.
