FIVE members of the Cootamundra Swimming and Lifesaving Club travelled to Wagga last Saturday to compete in the Wagga Long Course Meet.

This was the first outdoor event of the season and the swimmers were confronted with stifling hot weather, reaching 36 degrees.
Showing true resilience, our swimmers showed what strong competitors Cootamundra Swimming and Lifesaving Club are, finishing the day with some fantastic results.

LIZZIE Bragg’s smile gave everything away, winning two medals for third place in both 100m back stroke and 50m butterfly which also saw her improve her PBs in both events.

MADDIE Brown had a great day, taking 33 seconds of her 100m back stroke, three seconds off her 50m breast stroke and four seconds off her 100m freestyle.

BELLA Leggett achieved a three second PB in her 50m breast stroke, and swam a gutsy 200 individual medley.

CHARLIE Leggett is showing what a strong competitor she is, achieving great times for each race.
Charlie beat her PB in the 50m breast stroke by three seconds, 50m freestyle by one second, and she took a huge eight seconds off her 100m freestyle.

MORE medals for Cootamundra, with Lachie Sedgwick walking away with two medals for third place in both 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle.
Not to be outdone by the girls, Lachie also achieved PBs in every event, taking eight seconds of his 50m breast stroke, one second off his 50m freestyle, four seconds off 50m back stroke and five seconds off his 50m butterfly. Well done Lachie.

ALL swimmers in the Cootamundra Swimming and Lifesaving Club are excited have started the 2016/17 swim season and we are looking forward to competing in Tumut on December 4. Good luck team!

THE Cootamundra Swimming and Lifesaving Club is for all swimmers, both children and adults, the serious and social. All new members are welcome to our club and we encourage you to come and give it a go!
Swimmers start training in the outdoor pool on Monday, November 28, starting at 4pm.
