The countdown is definitely on to the time the arrival of the jolly man is red and here at the Cootamundra Herald, we are getting in the spirit.
We aim to bring you a comprehensive list of addresses to visit once Christmas lights go up around town.
“Christmas light looking” is an institution in most towns and cities, with Cootamundra no different.
There are some spectacular homes about every year so if you see one this year please be in touch with a member of the Cootamundra Herald team to pass the details on.
Christmas time also means summer holidays for school students.
Keeping kids entertained for six weeks can be a daunting task but we would like to make it easier by coordinating a comprehensive school holiday guide to what is on in town to be published in the Cootamundra Herald and online at cootamundraherald.com.au prior to the last day of school on Tuesday, December 20.
To help get, and keep, people in the Christmas spirit, loads of activities are planned in town.
Saturday just gone saw the very successful Lions Christmas Fair.
Community members made the most of the great weather flocking to Fisher Park to enjoy the market stalls, games, entertainment, food and of course the fireworks.
Sunday, December 11, from 7pm, marks Carols by Candlelight in Jubilee Park, hosted by the Combined Churches of Cootamundra.
The Cootamundra Development Corporation (CDC) is also adding to the festive feeling hosting their annual Community Christmas Party on Thursday, December 15 with late night shopping, market stalls, food and more rides and activities than ever before.
Man of the moment, Santa will make a special appearance.
The theme this year by the CDC is ‘Have yourself a local Christmas’ encouraging people to put Cootamundra first when doing their shopping.
The town Christmas tree will once again stand proud on the roundabout opposite the Ex Services Club.
