Delta Agribusiness Cup ladder leaders the Family Hotel Crusaders will take on the Young-based S&C Young Ones, who currently sit in fifth place.
The match was originally scheduled to be played at Alfred Oval in Young, however with the pitch still suffering damage from the football season, the game was transferred to Fisher Park.
Crusaders captain Dean Bradley is looking forward to the change in time and venue.
“A lot of us have played under lights before so it is not a totally different prospect,” Bradley said.
The teams will use a white ball rather than a red ball as per day/night tradition with Bradley anticipating the white ball will fly around a bit more.
A lot of us have played under lights before so it is not a totally different prospect.
- Crusaders captain Dean Bradley
While the Crusaders will go into Friday’s game hot favourites, Bradley said he will be reminding players of the adage ‘one game at at time’ with anything possible on the night.
The Crusaders will be without the experience of Darren Connell, who has been in good form with the bat of late.
This opens the door for some of the team’s younger players to step up.
Hamish Pennington has been named in the side after missing recent rounds due to harvest.
Judd Kerrison will also come back into the side for the Crusaders.
Kerrison has proved himself handy with the bat with Bradley looking to these two young guns to contribute.
“We don’t want to be a one-trick pony; we want everyone to contribute,” Bradley said.
He said he will be looking for energy in the field from his players.
The game starts at 6.30pm with each innings to be 32 overs unless bowled out.
Spectators are welcome with Bradley encouraging anyone home for the Cootamundra Cup race meeting this weekend to get down to Fisher Park for what promises to be an entertaining game.
“It would be great to see a good crowd there,” Bradley said.
In the other match of the weekend, to be be played on Saturday, Mimosa will host the Coyotes from Young.
Cootamundra’s Central Hotel side has the bye.
