FLASHBACK: Harry Watson finds space during junior touch back in 2014. This Wednesday, February 15, there will be a come and try day at Nicholson Park.

This Wednesday, February 15, Cootamundra Junior Touch will host a ‘come and try’ day at Nicholson Park for those youngsters thinking about giving the sport a go but not yet ready to commit to playing.

The season was scheduled to start this week, however with lower than necessary registration numbers the commencement has been pushed back and the committee is encouraging people to give the fun-filled sport a try.

“Some children are already registered however numbers are low in some age groups and we may not be able to run them,” committee member Tisha McTavish said.

“I am hoping a come and try day will help boost numbers,” she added.

Parents can register children at https://ref.sportingpulse.com/v6/regoform.cgi?formID=45821 or contact Tisha on 0403 997 420 if they have any questions.

The come and try game for years 1/2 and 3/4 will kick off at 4pm with years 5/6 and 7/8/9 to start at 4:30pm.

Registration is $25 per child.

Junior touch provides skills for life and plenty of fun for participants.

It is also great training for those who play football during the winter.

The committee behind the sport recently hosted the Unisex Touch Carnival..
