Nicoll blasted 135 not out as Wagga made up for last year’s shock loss in the final, defeating Cootamundra by 45 runs at Robertson Oval.
Wagga batted first and finished 5-282 from their 50 overs, courtesy of a brilliant partnership between Nicoll and in-form teenager Jack Carey (73).
Cootamundra gave the chase a big shake, thanks largely to 104 from Matt Berkrey, but they finished at 8-237.
The visitors were on track to pull off the run chase until Berkrey holed out on the boundary off the bowling of Gage Baxter.
Nicoll said it was a satisfying victory.
“It was good to be able to the win after last year,” Nicoll said.
“It’s really good, the boys done pretty well.”
