A public consultation meeting is being held at the Cootamundra Library from 11am to 1pm on Monday, March 6.
If you can’t make it down in this time, there are a number of other consultation meetings over the next week in Cootamundra and Gundagai.
Five logo options have been created for the new Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council.
The options are based on branding survey responses, along with feedback from the community and staff engagement sessions.
More than 600 responses were received when council conducted their branding survey.
Responses came from residents in all towns and villages in the amalgamated council area, according to council.
Additionally, all age groups were represented.
The selected logo will be applied to every council sign, letter, leaflet, uniform, building, vehicle, social media platform and website within the amalgamated region.
Council administrator Christine Ferguson said the community highlighted country living, agricultural landscapes and friendly communities as major elements to be depicted in the new logo
“Each of the five designs reflect the shared values of our thriving rural communities,” Mrs Ferguson said.
At a branding consultation meeting held in Cootamundra last December, graphic designer behind the project Angela Pearce said the logo needed to be “quite conservative but also needs to be really gorgeous and different”.
“The region we live in is absolutely beautiful so I’ve got a really great brief to work with,” Mrs Pearce said.
The five designs are available to view on the Cootamundra Herald or council website.
People can also have a say at four consultation sessions to be held with Mrs Pearce.
“I encourage all community members to come and meet our design and marketing team and have your say in shaping our new council logo,” Mrs Ferguson said.
The Corporate Branding and Community Engagement project is being funded by the State Government Amalgamation Funding.
