Essential Energy crews are currently responding to a power outage affecting 1,654 customers in Cootamundra.
The power company reports that network protection equipment activated at 9.14am after detecting a fault on the high voltage electricity network.
Attending crews have identified damage to network equipment in the vicinity of Hume Street and are working to isolate the affected area and restore supply to customers as quickly as safety allows.
A supply restoration time is currently unknown.
A number of businesses in the main street have been affected by the outage with some having closed until power returns.
