The yarding was 3156 head made up of 2542 lambs, 535 ewes, 43 hoggets, 25 rams and 11 old sheep.
Saleyards manager Jeff White reported that once again trade lambs presented were of excellent quality.
With all regular buyers present, they operated in a market that was quoted by agents as $5 to $8 better for lambs with the mutton market also $4 to $8 better.
“This is a very pleasing result and is well in line with other larger regional saleyards, with the vendors getting well and truly rewarded for producing quality stock,” Mr White said.
Top price of the day went to Fred and Ken Clark of Wallendbeen with a quality pen of crossbred lambs making $166.20.
With an estimated CW of 24kg and carrying an $8 coat, they came back at $6.60/kg CW and were knocked down to Woolworths after spirited bidding.
