The shed has the potential to be used for car and horse events, or to host large gatherings of people.
It will come into its own on show weekend when it will be used primarily for the exhibition of sheep and cattle.
Previously, locals and visitors showing stock at the Cootamundra Show had access to a limited number of stalls and once these are full cattle, in particular, was then tied to a tree or a vehicle.
The shed has been funded by the State Government’s Public Reserves Management Fund with further funding needed to complete the project.
Recently Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council administrator Christine Ferguson toured the facility and pledged to assist them to source funding recgonising that a completed project would act to create income for the Show Society from visiting groups.
Member for Cootamundra Katrina Hodgkinson has also pledged her support for the completion of the project and on a recent trip to Cootamundra took note of the need for funding by the Show Society.
