Jake, believed to be the only Old English Sheepdog in Cootamundra, was known for his distinctive shaggy coat and a friendly demeanour.
He went missing from the Nash’s Lane property of owners Ben Brown and Lucy Pigram between 5am and 2pm on Tuesday, April 11.
With the couple desperate for Jake’s safe return a $1000 reward was put on the table for anyone who could bring their beloved dog home.
Since Tuesday, Ben and Lucy, together with family and friends, had mounted a concerted social media campaign to locate Jake and get him back where he belonged.
A Facebook post by Ben was shared more than 650 times casting the net far and wide.
No stone was left unturned in their search.
Today, Ben was left to break the news on his Facebook page that Jake had been found, however not in the circumstances all had hoped.
He offered his sincere thanks to everyone of the many people who actively helped look for Jake and shared his and Lucy’s posts on social media.
Jake’s disappearance and untimely death are now in the hands of local police.
