Robert Bak of the Integrated Servicepeople’s Association of Australia gave the welcome and opening address to the audience.
A short, but meaningful solemn service centred around not only veterans but also the world situation we have today, the politicians who send them to war, and the leadership in all government.
The army veteran said decision-makers must realise their responsibilities towards our service and ex-service communities.
Mr Bak’s address was a message for leaders to start opening their hearts towards our veterans and get them on the road to recovery and not just talk and attend photo opportunities.
“The governments have been poorly lacking in its duties towards our veterans and service people alike,” he said.
