Competing in the Western League Junior Basketball, the girls have registered an undefeated season thus far and currently stand at 9-0 ahead of their upcoming grand final against the Griffith Demons at Bathurst on Sunday May 6.
Playing round robin fixtures all across the state, the Cougars have travelled extensively together and formed a tight-kit group defined by teamwork and a love for the game.
“The majority of the team have played together for the past 4 years but the new members of the team have slotted in like they have been playing together for years,” said club manager Jason Chambers.

“They only get together once a week for training and when they compete they are playing against teams who train together twice a week and play in their town competitions.”
The Cougars announced themselves as early title contenders with convincing Round One wins over Dubbo Rams Blue 54-11, Bathurst Goldminers White 87-5 and Orange Eagles 44-18 in Narrandera.
Unwilling to rest on their laurels, the Cougars went up a gear in Round Two, crushing Dubbo Rams Red 101-4, Bathurst Goldminers Blue 55-20 and Narrandera Knights 64-6 in a ruthless performance in Orange on March 18. Round three saw a series of table-topping clashes at Leeton on April 1, with the stage set for a mouth-watering showdown between the Cougars and the Griffith Demons.
Undeterred, the Cougars kept up their winning form and blasted through their opposition, downing Leeton Eagles 75-8, Griffith Demons 51-20 and West Wyalong Wildcats 52-25.
The Cougars now go into the finals as hot favourites against a highly touted Demons side whom they have already defeated.
