The market was made up of 2519 lambs, 1424 ewes, 163 hoggets, 56 sheep & 76 rams.

With the usual 12 buyers operating, the quality of the trade lambs was very good.  

Featuring a few more pens of heavy lambs, the market for lambs was quoted by agents as up to $5 dearer, which was quality driven.

The mutton market was of very high standard and sold to a firm to slightly higher rate than the previous fortnight.

Top price of the day went to Lindsay & Lea Ricketts of Gundagai Rd, with an outstanding pen of XB lambs making $190.

With an estimated CW of 29kg and carrying a $8 skin, they came back at $6.30/kg CW and were knocked down to Fletchers International on a single bid.

OTHER QUOTES

 – 24 to 26kg CW Lambs made between $170 to $180 to be up $5.

 – 22 to 24kg CW trade lambs made between $165 to $175, to be $5 dearer.

 – 20 to 23kg CW trade lambs made between $145 to $165 to be $7 better.

 – 16 to 20kg CW lambs made between $90 & $125.00 to be $3 back.

The processors purchased most, with some sold to the re-stocker between $110 to $126.

Most of the above lambs were on the $6.40 to $6.80 mark, equalling and in cases bettering other regional markets. 

The mutton market was once again extremely strong.

Heavy old ewes with a big jacket reaching a top of $184 or approximately $4.90/kg CW.

Medium framed ewes made between $135 to $145 and reaching $5/kg CW.

Light boner mutton made from $75 to $80.

All mutton averaged $124 per head & and sold  between $4.40 & $5.10/kg CW.

A good run of hoggets made to a top of $180.20, to average $129.

There was a good line up of rams and they were keenly sought after, selling to a top of $161 to average $110.
