Having previously relied upon donations, Cootamundra RDA spokesperson Olwen Smith said the contribution, made possible through the Stronger Communities Fund, was particularly significant and would protect horses from the winter chill.
“Our horses are irreplaceable because of the thorough training they have undertaken to accept disabled riders and their idiosyncrasies,” Ms Smith said in statement.
Council administrator Stephen Sykes said although the grant was small, the benefits were enormous.
“(This grant) will ensure the health and well-being of these animals, who in turn do so much for the disabled in the Cootamundra region.”
