The logo will be rolled out across the Local Government Area over the coming days and weeks.
Administrator Stephen Sykes said the branding direction will “help to build a strong sense of community and unity across the region and showcase our area to the wider community”.
‘Today marks an important milestone in the establishment of Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council,” Mr Sykes said.
The chosen design features represent:
- Outer charcoal ring: Bound by local industry and the roads that connect us.
- Blue ring: Surrounded by waterways, the lifeblood of the region.
- Green centre: Green pastures and healthy landscapes.
- Seeds: Growth, productivity and healthy community spirit. We are proud of our roots and look towards future growth.
The designs options, of which there were originally five presented to the community, were developed after considerable consultation with local communities.
More than 600 people responded to a consultation survey, more than 200 attended meetings and logo design workshops and and 173 people provided valuable feedback on logo concepts in the design phase.
A council spokesperson said the purpose of the community consultation was to identify key values and themes to be brought to life through the branding.
Themes that arose throughout the process were the value of country living, agricultural landscape and friendly communities.
The spokesperson said council feels strongly that the new look captures these attributes.
The new design will be used on signs, buildings, vehicles, letters, uniforms and the council website and Facebook pages.
