Cootamundra stock and station agent Garry James will hang up his hat and hand in his notebook bound for retirement after 50 years in the agricultural services game.

He attended his last Cootamundra Sheep Sale on Wednesday for local enterprise Holman Tolmie.
Garry is leaving the company in good hands with young gun agent Corey Nicholson having joined the partnership with Steve Tolmie.
Born and raised in Harden, Mr James went to Murrumburrah High School.
He began his career with Winchcombe Carson in Harden on October 10, 1966 in the merchandise section.
In 1967, he was called up for National Service, completing two years, before returning to his previous job in Harden.
From there it was onto Forbes between 1971 and 1974, during which time he and wife Lois married and their first daughter Terrina was born.
The family moved to Parkes in 1974 where Mr James worked as an area rep.
Second and third children Raymond and Charlene were born during this time.
In 1978, Mr James was posted to Warren when a merger led to agency Dalgety Winchcombe being established.
It was here fourth child Shree was born.
The family came to Cootamundra in 1982 with Mr James managing the Dalgety Winchcombe branch in town for 12 years.
He then left the wool firm and commenced business with Rod Holman and Steve Tolmie on May 20, 1994.
Mr Holman retired in 2003.
Mr James wanted to see five decades in the agricultural industry and achieved his goal.
He will officially finish at the end of this week.
