Workers remain onsite at Manildra's Temora Road plant

With high livestock prices still a feature of the national agricultural climate, Manildra Meat Company does not look like re-opening anytime soon.

A spokesperson for the company said there has been no change in the industry over the last few months, however the intention is they will process again in the future.

“Manildra Meat Company continues to assess the industry dynamics with the intention of processing again at Cootamundra,” the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson confirmed personnel are still working at the site despite the fact they are not processing lambs or beef.

The abattoir, which employed 150 permanent and 70 casual staff, closed in February this year.
