“It’s a high visibility police presence designed to show the community, and in this case, train staff and passengers, that we are here,” Senior Constable Corey Styles said.
Walking in a group of six has seen a few locals do a double-take as the officers spent Friday in Wagga.
“We hear Wagga’s a pretty busy centre for the officers so its good to get a chance to be here and see the place for ourselves,” said Senior Constable Bernard Audibe.
It’s a welcome addition, too, for Wagga’s Local Area Command to have an extra six officers to call upon.
Next stop is Cootamundra before the officers head back to Sydney.
