Apart from Blues champion Stephen Chant who chalked up six on a trot from 2007-2012, Dylan, by winning his second Blues B&F, becomes the first dual winner of this award since Peter Morath went back to back in 2002 & 2003, which was the last two seasons in the Farrer League.

Meanwhile, Sienna’s best Blue in the women’s side in the inaugural season and I am sure her B&F will not be her last.
To win this award after missing two matches and not polling in another two matches, really shows her class as a footballer. She was an absolute star in the ruck.

One final note on the Best & Fairest, in the Blues first season playing in Canberra in 2004, Richie Larsen made his debut for the Blues at the age of 37.
In the Best & Fairest count that year, Richie polled four votes.
On Saturday night at the Blues B&F, Richie’s son Sam polled four votes.
Perhaps Sam could claim victory, as his four votes were three and one, while dad chalked up four singles.

The women’s side put in a spirted effort against Tuggeranong going down by 34 pts. As
previously stated the girls improved every week and I am sure they will chalk up many wins
in 2018. The driving force on the women’s side was their captain Michaela Perceval.
Michaela who represented Victoria as a 17 year old, showed her class as footballer, but
standing in the game to bind the girls together is to be commended.

Now all the preliminary matches are completed, we can focus our attention on the finals.
With the Blues and ANU Griffins finishing top two and having tomorrow off, the two semi-final matches over the weekend should be crackers.
Tomorrow out at Stirling Oval, Yass play ADFA/RMC, while on Sunday, Woden plays Southern Cats.
I am predicting Yass and Southern Cats to progress the preliminary final. Should the Southern Cats win they will play the Blues in the preliminary final, Yass would play ANU Griffins.
