THE top bowls news for Country Club bowlers this week is the back-to-back Champion of Champions win at South West District level by Michael Barber and Ron Johnson achieved by defeating a Boorowa Ex-Services pair at Young last Saturday.

Ron Johnson goes to Young again this Saturday to represent our club in the singles of this competition having defeated his pairs partner, Mike,(31-17) for this right.
Sunday, three games were set up which provided good competition and the winning combination with a plus eight was E Jarrott and R Cleveland who defeated W Ledger, and E Thorburn.
The other two games had a plus four margin as follows, R Williams, D Harris K Breasley defeated M Annetts, D Guthrie, and W Manwaring (18-14) and G Hagan, W.Watmore, and D.Bateup defeated K Ryan, G Bushell and D Manwaring (21-17). Not sure about the jackpot.
Tuesday was lowest in numbers for long while and a nice afternoon, and G Hagan and A Hutchinson took home the meat trays for their win over A Krause and D Bateup.(25-13).
Second game finished in a draw between W Watmore and R. Cleveland who were against N Stubbs and J Cooper (22-22). Maybe better next week!
