RAIN, wind, sleet, fog, or sun, nothing will dampen the fun of playing croquet, on any type of day. The Tuesday group certainly do have a mixed bag, from swinging mallets, superb greens; even the eldest player proved that that age beats beauty.

The Wednesday group played in very thick fog, so much so that Ray could not find the balls or the hoops, Another day, Ruth , Julie, and Gwen played in constant sleet, which certainly made hitting the balls straight, rather difficult. One of the best players on a beautiful sunny day was Gwen, who not only hit some fab shots; she played like an Olympic champion.
My Thursday group, what can I say about this made lot, (yep that includes me), from missing a simple shot, I ended up playing extremely well, so much so, I beat one of the best players in the Thursday group, proves any one can be a champ on the day, (sorry Ray). Yes it was a cold day, however a husband and wife, lost their way around the court, they went through the same hoops three times, they then decided to finish the game so we could all warm up with a nice tea or coffee, and blame each other for their mistake.
Cootamundra Croquet Club is social and is not a competition, and we play at the Country Club on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursday. CootaStockShot fun day is October 11, come and have a look, as there will be an array of odd looking clothes, crazy hats, even some mallets might be decorated.
