With a quorum not able to be reached, the season can not proceed.
Another emergency AGM will be held next Tuesday, September 26 from 6.30pm at the Ex-Services Club with the committee desperately looking for numbers.
The Touch Association is calling on at least one representative from each team intending to play this summer to attend the emergency AGM.
The association is looking for a new secretary after long-standing secretary Scott Meale indicated he would stand down from the position, however other executive positions remain filled.
Stephen Cootes has indicated his intention to remain in the president’s role.
With this in mind, the association is seeking general committee members to bring fresh ideas to the competition and lend a hand.
In excess of 200 Cootamundra and district residents play touch football in town each year in the men’s, women’s and unisex competitions.
Given this large representation on the field, a spokesperson for the Touch Association said a few more hands on deck off the field would be greatly appreciated.
The spokesperson said this is not the first time a quorum has not been met at a touch AGM, in fact it is the fourth consecutive year.
The touch season is scheduled to kick off around the first week of November.
Until a committee can be finalised, registration will not proceed for any of the three competitions.
“It is disappointing that a sport which so many people get enjoyment out of each summer continues to have this issue,” the spokesperson said.
The association does not hold a lot of meetings, meaning the requirement for committee members is minimal in this area.
Anyone interested should be in contact with a current committee member or turn up to next week’s AGM.
