Earlier this month, she was joined at a formal reception at Government House by husband Ken and daughters Lynne Thorburn and Kim Hossack, who now lives in Tasmania. 

There, Mrs Thorburn was officially inducted into the Order of Australia after her dedication to her home village was recognised as part of this year’s Queen’s Birthday honours. 

The Thorburn family thoroughly enjoyed the experience with Mrs Thorburn taking the opportunity after returning to thank those people who left messages of congratulations with Lynne at the Cootamundra Library. 

She also thanked those people who sent cards and letters, wrote Facebook messages and left telephone messages while she and Ken were away on holidays.
