President Helen welcomed everyone and congratulated those celebrating their birthdays this month with an invitation to attend a morning tea at her home.  It was also mentioned how enjoyable the trip to Temora was.  

Unfortunately, the October planned trip had to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances so there will be morning tea and a movie at the Art Centre. 

Before the hostess ladies served morning tea, president Helen inducted six ladies to our Ladies Probus Club confirming their wishes of becoming official members. 

The new lady members are Margaret Smith, Chris Holland, Fay Doige, Jenny Ward, Juanita Kurray and Janelle Keys.

 A very big welcome to these ladies from all members.

After morning tea break Christine Wishart the guest speaker, who has been a dancing teacher for many years now.

She grew up on her parents farm at Hillston and attended a country school till high school age then went to school in Leeton. 

After leaving school she did a  secretarial course and worked at a solicitors office in Griffith. 

Then she moved back to Hillston where she continued her love of dancing and eventually started teaching, then Christine, her husband and three daughters obtained a small farm outside Cootamundra. 

In Cootamundra she became an associate of another well known dancing teacher, Chris Edwards, until she branched out on her own and works  in Harden, Temora, Young and Cootamundra. 

 As Christine mentioned dancing brings out in children many qualities that otherwise would go undetected.  

Listening to Christine speak about her teaching experience it was very evident that a special bond forms between teacher and the children. 

Both teacher, children, parents and those folk who work behind the scene are all very busy now preparing for the annual concerts that take place at the end of the year.

The next meeting is November 13, a picnic lunch to follow.
