W Watmore, R Cleveland and G Worboys advanced to the next round by defeating G Cassidy, B Lange and A Ward, in a game that had its moments to be anyone’s game until a six-shot win by the eventual winners on one end made the difference, and final score was 25-17.

The Mixed Pairs Championship found a new combination in the contest this year as Jan Roberts and Ron Rosengreen paired up and entered the fray.
Now, if you can take anything from this, their first, they are going to be a pair to contend with for sure.
They played a couple, well performed in past games, Helen and Keith Townley, and had a tremendous result (28-9) with couple ends not played, so well done, Jan and Ron.

Social play last Tuesday, took the form of three games of pairs, and our Harden friend Brian Gibson combined well with John Malone to amass a 20-point score from their 26-14 win over Graham Bushell, and David Bateup, and this earned them the meat trays.
R Williams and C Miller came next with an 18-point win over G Hagan and P Rasmussen, 23-18, and the third game saw J Cook and K Breasley sneak a narrow win (17-15) over A Hutchinson and G Davidson for 16 points.
Adam won the raffle tray.

To finish I have results of a couple of games played Friday that the said players may have preferred being omitted from publication, but this is something that can happen to the best at times.
On this occasion it was the pair of G Hagan and P Rasmussen who put the cleaner through W Watmore and D Bateup, 37-6.
Secondly, but not quite as severe, the win by J Lelievre, G Bushell, and G Davidson over N Apps, E Jarrott and J Malone, 23-12, and it’s all about getting most bowls closest to the jack.
