The incident took place on September 27 in Thuddungra NSW and though the boy is expected to have made a full recovery, the man is to appear at Young local court on January 9, 2018.
Cootamundra LAC crime manager Scott Wilkinson said the man was served a future court attendance notice for 'Not keep firearm safe' and 'Give firearm to person not authorised by licence/permit’.
The Thuddungra man’s firearms licence has been suspended effective immediately, and he has surrendered all firearms to police for destruction.
