THE town clock now chimes on time and Arts Centre and Tin Shed Theatre visitors will be kept cool via the new air conditioning unit – all thanks to council’s Stronger Communities Fund that has delivered in excess of $388,000 worth of projects. The horses at Riding for Disabled have been kept warm over winter; Uralba Hostel had CCTV installed; students at Bongongo Primary School and Puggles Pre School have benefited from improvements at the Adjungbilly Hall; and Strikers Soccer club spectators have been given shelter.

Mayor Abb McAlister said he was pleased so many organisations had been able to get much needed funds.
“21 community organisations have now completed their nominated projects, ranging from as little as $1450 to over $33,000. The projects have made outstanding differences to all who are involved with the organisations and use their facilities. It’s wonderful to see so many completed thus far, and still more to come, our community can only benefit in the long term,” Cr McAlister said.
