The trio has purchased a house and are enjoying settling into a new area, exploring all Cootamundra and its surrounds has to offer.
Already, Mr Day has been volunteering at the Salvation Army 15 hours a week, however at 58-years of age is not ready to retire from full-time work.
He has signed up to a job agency and been pounding the pavement speaking to employers as he continues his search for work, however has had no luck as yet.
The bulk of Mr Day’s working life has been behind the steering wheel of a bus.
He is keen to continue bus driving if at all possible, however told the Cootamundra Herald this week he will turn his hand to just about anything.
Mr Day holds a HR licence.
He lived in Cootamundra briefly some 11 years ago and it was this experience and local housing affordability which saw him move the family back here.
Having bought a house and essentially thrown all of his eggs in the basket of making a life in Cootamundra for his family, Mr Day now needs a job to complete the picture.
He notes that employment opportunities have been hard to come by and called on the council and other agencies in what he hopes to make his new hometown to be proactive about encouraging businesses to open in and around Cootamundra.
