Craig was only 39 years old when he suffered the massive seizure that ended his life. He passed away on August 13 at home and left behind his wife Peta and two sons, Angus and Oliver.
Born and bred in Bethungra, he was a true sportsman and loved spending time with his two boys, supporting them when they played cricket and rugby league. The clubs have come together to organise a Family Fun Day to raise money for Craig’s wife and sons.
Lifelong friend, John Blackman, from Cootamundra is keen to promote the fundraiser .
“Craig was a great friend, husband and father and we lost him too soon.” Mr Blackman said. “He loved his sport and couldn’t do enough for the clubs his sons played for. I realise Hillston is a long way for people to travel, but there are other ways to help out Craig’s family.”
The two clubs have also organised a raffle and an auction that anyone can bid on.
“To buy raffle tickets, people need to contact Clint Robertson on 0437 704 213, he will allocate the tickets to them. If they wish to bid on any item for the auction, text him the item and amount they would bid to and he’ll handle it from that end.” Mr Blackman said. “Most of the auction items have been donated by Griffith businesses. If anyone from around here wins anything, I’ll ensure that the prize gets to them.”
There is a Facebook page titled ‘Fundraiser for Randall Family’ if anyone would like to know more.
“I thanked Clint Robertson for doing this for Craig’s family and he said that he was happy to do it for such good people, and that Craig had been involved in doing the same thing for another family earlier this year.” Mr Blackman said.
Items available for bid in the auction include: $200 worth of Tupperware; $150 package from Yenda Producers; a lamb, butchered and cut from Dusty Warren and The Robertson’s; $500 Vehicle Service from Natrad Griffith; $250 worth of various items from Liberty Rural; $100 Gift Voucher from Strawberries on Ice; $500 open voucher from Rawlinson Brown; $50 pack from La Petite Griffith; 2 x $300 worth of John Deere Merchandise From Hutchin and Pearce and many, many more items.
Tickets are available from Clint Robertson on 0437 704 213; Kate Flanagan on 0413 088 506 or Bek Cunial on 0428 647 983
