Sacred Heart kinders of 2018 have made a wonderful impression on the school’s new cutting edge ES1-year one classrooms designed to provide them with large spaces for both structured and collaborative, inquiry learning.
This year’s theme is linked to scripture from 2Corinthians 9:6 “Whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully” – Students are encouraged to be inspired to always give their best efforts to benefit all in the community.
Principal Janet Cartwright said it was important to focus on growing strong performers in literacy and numeracy, skills fundamental to a child achieving their hopes and dreams.
“Our STEM program introduced last year continues to grow and in response to parent calls for attention to computer software application skills,” Mrs Cartwright said.

“Students will become proficient in Office as well as the many creative and problem solving apps already used by students on iPads.
“Contemporary education is all about providing the best education for each individual student and meeting their needs at whichever point in their learning they may be.
“By introducing the concept of “The Learning Pit” to students, they are benefiting from learning the ability to take risks with their learning and feel motivated to try new strategies to problem solve.”
Mrs Cartwright said the well-being of students was at the heart of everything she does.
“Research clearly shows that a child’s learning capacity is far greater when they are healthy in mind and spirit,” she said. “This is where Sacred Heart excels.”
