The afternoon was left in the capable hands of 2015 school captains Alexandra Crawford and Sam Bragg, who led the assembly with professionalism and confidence. They were ably assisted by vice captains Madellen Monteleone and Isaac Tregear.
Fellow student Kayla Pearce opened the proceedings with a personal acknowledgement of country address.
The Year Two choir led the singing of the national anthem, accompanied by Mark Forsyth on piano, followed by two of their Eisteddfod songs.
Alexandra presented the student council report, highlighting the many charities and community organisations supported with successful fundraisers throughout the year.
She concluded by thanking the class councillors, SRC coordinator Mrs Jo Trickett and principal Mr Bill Godman.
“We have enjoyed every moment of our role in leadership,” Alexandra said. “We have been honoured to lead our school with pride, and we feel we have left a positive imprint on the school. We hope we have set an example for future leaders to follow.”
Sam presented the sport report, focusing on the impressive achievements of the many school, district and regional representatives.
“All students have enjoyed our sport this year and whether we have won or lost, we have represented ourselves and our school proudly and kept the Cootamundra Public School flag flying high,” Sam said.
Another highlight of the afternoon was a slideshow of great photos from the year put together by Year Two teacher Todd Kable.
Alexandra and Sam concluded the assembly by passing on their blazers and badges to 2016 captains Archie Adams and Elizabeth Bragg. Madellen and Isaac also welcomed 2016 vice captains Libby Hartshorn and Cooper Emonson.
