Show secretary Leanne Belling said it was a fantastic day with gate numbers up on previous years.
She indicated one of the keys to the success of the show is the fact they do not charge a fee for people to enter the pavilion or the horse sections.
“People can enter 100 items if they want and they don’t have to pay anything, we have always operated this way and will continue to,” Mrs Belling said.
Saturday’s highly successful Illabo Show had everything people have come to expect from events including rides for the kids, mini trots, agricultural exhibits and pavilions full of arts and crafts.
The weather is always a major factor in the success of any show and Mrs Belling said show organisers could not have hoped for anything better.
“Overall it was a fantastic day with fantastic weather and a fantastic atmosphere,” Mrs Belling said.
The popular lamb dinner will be held at Illabo this weekend and Mrs Belling said numbers for this event are also strong.
