The fire started shortly after 2pm near Kilrush Road and burned extremely quickly under easterly winds but crews, including three aircraft and approximately 20 tankers, had it contained less than two hours later.
Crews continued to work into the evening using graders to keep the fire contained.
On Wednesday morning, 5 trucks and 18 firefighters continued to mop up, working on some trees that remained alight.
Initially it was reported the fire burned over 300 hectares but this was subsequently downgraded to 195 hectares.
An investigator was at the scene of the fire on Wednesday morning to determine the cause of the blaze.
As the fire broke out, reports were made to the RFS of a second fire to the north of Wallendbeen.
This turned out to be a false alarm.
