One of the biggest fixtures in the Cootamundra cricketing calendar is the Legacy T20 charity match which will be held on Wednesday, January 18. 

The match will see and over 25s team, captained by Dean Bradley, take on an under 25s team, captained by Matt Berkrey. 

A full cricket kit, including bat, will be raffled at the match and tickets are available at IGA on Tuesdays and Woolworths on Thursdays. 

All proceeds, expected to be over $2,000, will go to Legacy in Cootamundra. 

Following the charity match, representative cricket kicks off again as Cootamundra takes on Young in the Stribley Shield. 

Due to scheduling conflicts, Temora have withdrawn from the competition so a win against Young will put Cootamundra straight into the final against Wagga. 

Then on Sunday, February 5 Cootamundra will have a chance to challenge for the O’Farrell Cup, one of the Riverina’s most prestigious awards.

On Sunday, January 29 the annual seven-a-side carnival will be held where teams face off in a casual competition. 

In the final round of the Delta Agribusiness Cup on Saturday, February 25 the Family Hotel Crusaders will take on Central Hotel in the Merrin Cup.

The best player in this match will be awarded the John Miers Memorial Trophy.

On the same day, Stockinbingal and Wallendbeen will play for the Sparre Cup as they both finished in the top four of the Dunk Insurance Cup. 

Also on the 25^th, the Cootamundra District Cricket Association’s biggest fundraising event, the 100 club, will be held.

Finally, a Cootamundra invitational side will play the Australian Old Collegians on Thursday, March 9 at Albert Park.

Former Cootamundra representative players will be given the chance to play against current and former grade players in the Old Collegian side. 

The next few months are jam-packed with quality cricket around Cootamundra.
